Where THIS Blogger Creates

I’m thrilled to be a part of the third annual ”Where Bloggers Create” blog party. For those who are visiting my blog but don't know what this is all about; this party is hosted by Karen Valentine of My Desert Cottage. It's a great way to be inspired by other creative people. The blog party showcases new ideas on how to decorate your creative space and if you are in need of some inspiration to get your creative juices flowing take some time to visit the creative spaces of all these wonderful bloggers. Hop on over to Karen's blog: My Desert Cottage and get started.

I am a scrapbooker, a quilter, a seamstress and a collector of anything that jumps off the shelves in an antique store! I’ve been a seamstress since I was 12 years old making all of my children’s clothing… they are now 21 and 26 and don’t need me to make their clothes anymore! I have been designing and making baby blankets for over 10 years and in 2008, through the insistence of a friend, I started my own business. I regularly search antique stores, flea markets, garage sales and dollar stores for anything that speaks “junque”. I love anything with a vintage feel or that I can distress into altered art pieces.

I am very fortunate to have two rooms that I can let my creative juices flow. I have a fabulous sewing room and just adjacent to that is my scrapbooking room. I spend a great deal of time in these two rooms when I am not working. They may not be the most glamorous or the biggest but I love them and I love spending my free time creating in them.
As you browse through my rooms, you will notice a common theme of white furniture. I love white as I think it goes with just about anything… and I can move things from one room to the other as another one of my hobbies is reorganizing.

I’m so happy to be participating in this year’s party… thanks for stopping by and taking the time to look at both of my rooms. I would love for you to leave me a comment and sign up as a follower and as a small token of my appreciation I will randomly choose one name to receive a personalized baby blanket in their choice of pink/white or blue/white.
The certificate will be valid for 2011 and you can check out my blankets at Sun 7 Designs.

Now I’m off to visit the other spaces…

The first room you are visiting is my fabulous sewing room with my proudest possession being my sewing table that my father-in-law custom built for me. It will always be my pride and joy and brings me many happy memories as he is no longer with us.

I have a fascination with dress forms.... here are a few table top ones that I have collected over the years.

My second room is my scrapbooking room and for me, the highlight in this room is my antique typewriter, still in working order and I continue to use on a lot of my creations.
Check out this fantastic find that I snagged at the local antique sale a few weeks ago... this great drawer cabinet holds all my Tim Holtz dies and various ephemera. Just love it with the beautiful vintage doilie on top.
This is a metal cupcake holder that I painted white and added some votive candle holders in each ring to hold all my bits & pieces.
As you walk into the room you can see my cute sock monkey who keeps en eye on my Cricut cartridges.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my rooms. Enjoy wandering the creative spaces of those listed on Karen's blog. Maybe they will inspire you to design a space of your own in which you can create.
