<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BYpfXraXzuY/V8SUT0nPRCI/AAAAAAAAEWA/fJhxFmCAJhUCiYGEsRTPEdoandKiIi6vQCLcB/s1600/TeePee11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BYpfXraXzuY/V8SUT0nPRCI/AAAAAAAAEWA/fJhxFmCAJhUCiYGEsRTPEdoandKiIi6vQCLcB/s640/TeePee11.jpg" width="470" /></a></div>
<br />
Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that the latest craze to hit the toddler playroom or bedroom is the teepee. I decided that I would try and create one using some ideas that I saw on Pinterest.<br />
<br />
I purchased the canvas fabric last year when I was visiting the USA and got a 50% off deal at Hobby Lobby. I wanted to use a canvas type material as it was much stronger than cotton and I felt it would last up to the wear and tear of a toddler.<br />
<br />
I'm not going to go into great detail on how I made the actual teepee, as there are hundreds of online DIY tutorials.<br />
<br />
I did purchase 5 yards of the red and white chevron canvas and cut 4 sides according to the size of the poles that I purchased (60"). I procrastinated for months on starting this project, mainly due to fear of getting it wrong. Once I started, I realized that it really wasn't that hard.<br />
<br />
My little grandson is going to have a "British" themed big boy bedroom so I wanted to incorporate some of the detail into the teepee using the British soldier cotton on the front opening panel as well as the matching reversible pillow.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wh2f8GbcKGc/V8CGY9kKTRI/AAAAAAAAEVI/TiK2mv2-NnAovGcI4DWSALrv0Nz9I1kXACEw/s1600/TeePee2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="456" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wh2f8GbcKGc/V8CGY9kKTRI/AAAAAAAAEVI/TiK2mv2-NnAovGcI4DWSALrv0Nz9I1kXACEw/s640/TeePee2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I created tie-backs with velcro for the opening on the teepee so that his little hands would be able to open and close the flaps easily.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CYE41_OKKHQ/V8CGa3DarPI/AAAAAAAAEVk/STAetJ1KPocXb82ZgGJ0QjhasZEeoBbUQCEw/s1600/TeePee8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="456" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CYE41_OKKHQ/V8CGa3DarPI/AAAAAAAAEVk/STAetJ1KPocXb82ZgGJ0QjhasZEeoBbUQCEw/s640/TeePee8.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I looked everywhere for very large buttons that little hands could grab easily and couldn't find anything that I liked so I purchased these 2" wooden circles from Michaels and had my husband drill two holes in the centre and I painted them black. I sewed them onto the velcro end of the tab with thick embroidery thread.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IrcK5fhmylA/V8CGahUPERI/AAAAAAAAEVc/zq5PqXyEXd82vwOOPzorUjz86kqmBbShACEw/s1600/TeePee7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="456" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IrcK5fhmylA/V8CGahUPERI/AAAAAAAAEVc/zq5PqXyEXd82vwOOPzorUjz86kqmBbShACEw/s640/TeePee7.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I painted the top 3" of the poles in a bright red to match the fabric. The holes were drilled into the poles approximately 4" down from the top and I used heavy cording to tie them all together and covered it with a piece of canvas fabric.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lmrUsqHye6U/V8CGayi740I/AAAAAAAAEVg/tnW39XhdabEk6hZ1IV8UVbQScQBLH8yHQCEw/s1600/TeePee6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="456" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lmrUsqHye6U/V8CGayi740I/AAAAAAAAEVg/tnW39XhdabEk6hZ1IV8UVbQScQBLH8yHQCEw/s640/TeePee6.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LldnAZ2xKng/V8SUg7O68xI/AAAAAAAAEWE/qhud9plJclcAyQByx4Rq11KIGWxnxQXQwCLcB/s1600/Teepee10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="456" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LldnAZ2xKng/V8SUg7O68xI/AAAAAAAAEWE/qhud9plJclcAyQByx4Rq11KIGWxnxQXQwCLcB/s640/Teepee10.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The playmat on the floor is reversible and made with washable heavy-duty indoor-outdoor fabric. There is a zipper along the back of the mat to allow easy removal of the puffy 2" foam layer inside. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oa7w-oI-94U/V8CJ5qeZvFI/AAAAAAAAEVw/3AKJr8bxzusAoXOGqSsZuABtfZduaklRgCLcB/s1600/TeePee9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="456" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oa7w-oI-94U/V8CJ5qeZvFI/AAAAAAAAEVw/3AKJr8bxzusAoXOGqSsZuABtfZduaklRgCLcB/s640/TeePee9.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The floor mat has elastic loops sewn into each corner and they are looped around the poles legs in order to keep it flat on the floor. I used rubber feet at the base of each pole so it does not slip on hardwood floors.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nSb-J8m1Iyo/V8CGZDaQxCI/AAAAAAAAEVM/LhEgllXrJSATsPdWRzbZSL3xMypefSdBQCEw/s1600/TeePee3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="456" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nSb-J8m1Iyo/V8CGZDaQxCI/AAAAAAAAEVM/LhEgllXrJSATsPdWRzbZSL3xMypefSdBQCEw/s640/TeePee3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The little pillow is reversible with white Minkee dimple dot fabric on the reverse of the soldier fabric. I love how this makes a great little reading nook.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is a closeup of the soldier fabric panel on the front of the teepee. </div>

<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gwdCmWCMW2c/V8CGZaDhdyI/AAAAAAAAEVs/hVLKymKMhXEqvQ3MiPkn_a63vCC8xRtYwCEw/s1600/TeePee4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="456" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gwdCmWCMW2c/V8CGZaDhdyI/AAAAAAAAEVs/hVLKymKMhXEqvQ3MiPkn_a63vCC8xRtYwCEw/s640/TeePee4.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This really was such a fun project and not as hard as I had envisioned it to be. The total project cost was just under $150 as I was fortunate enough to get all the fabrics on sale for 50% off.</div>

I know it's been a while since I've posted but things have been crazy busy with the business and it seems like blogging has been last on the list this past year.<br />
<br />
I wanted to share the latest project that I made for my one year old Grandson. It's a busy book!<br />
There are a few of the pages that are a little advanced for a one year old, but I wanted him to grow into the book and have it last several years.<br />
<br />
This was a time-consuming project, taking almost a month to complete but I wasn't in any rush so it was a lot of fun to work on.<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--ZtKbXrGw6A/V2bSLE3PEEI/AAAAAAAAERA/n4nhFeInMeANlUW7r2b9cYqi_B24xZ3cACK4B/s1600/IMG_2551.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/--ZtKbXrGw6A/V2bSLE3PEEI/AAAAAAAAERA/n4nhFeInMeANlUW7r2b9cYqi_B24xZ3cACK4B/s400/IMG_2551.jpg" width="400" /></a>The sunshine circle is made with crinkle fabric and sensory ribbon tags.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: start;">The I Spy page is a fabric magnifying glass with lots of little trinkets to catch your attention.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Henry's favourite thing to do right now is play peek-a-boo so this is his favourite page as he can put his hands inside the mittens!</div>

A little too young for this page but he will have fun matching the shapes in the future. Each vinyl shape has velcro attached to the back to secure it to the opposite shape page.</div>

<br />
Branding is more than just your company name, logo or tag line.....It's the entire experience your company has with their customers.<br />
Every brand makes a promise and that promise serves as a differentiator between you and your competitors. My promise is not to just sell you a baby blanket but rather to make the experience not only fast and easy but also enjoyable.<br />
<br />
The key to branding is consistency. Does your logo convey something that you are selling or is it just a cute picture that might end up confusing someone? My logo is a baby pram, quite simple but who doesn't associate a baby when seeing the pram? The colour scheme is soft and feminine to attract women. I keep this consistent throughout my marketing materials from my invoices, business cards, gift cards etc. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TyCLoVlZll4/Vds9EJuH3aI/AAAAAAAAEQY/pL6QpqAi4NI/s1600/DSC06913.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TyCLoVlZll4/Vds9EJuH3aI/AAAAAAAAEQY/pL6QpqAi4NI/s400/DSC06913.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I use one source for all my marketing materials and <a href="http://www.freshbooks.com/" target="_blank">FreshBooks </a>for my accounting. FreshBooks allows the customer to keep their brands consistent by using their online <a href="http://www.freshbooks.com/features/online-invoicing" target="_blank">invoicing system</a>. It can help to keep your brand consistent by easily inserting your business logo. Keeping things aesthetically pleasing and professional at the same time. All my social media accounts have the same flow keeping consistent in my branding. Social media sites contain the largest amount of connections so every single piece of media that you share should support your brand image.<br />
<br />
Try using emotional triggers to strengthen the customer's loyalty. I try and make them feel like they are part of the buying experience by allowing them as much input in the design process as possible. An important factor in buying from Sun 7 Designs is to make the customer's life easier. <br />
<br />
In the end, branding and marketing is a long road and an on-going process. Setting up your accounts is one step, the real challenge is actively participating. Have fun with it and keep it consistent.<br />

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-i8JEwgc7e68/VUZxHz94J7I/AAAAAAAAEOs/aM868HBAm18/s1600/Alex1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-i8JEwgc7e68/VUZxHz94J7I/AAAAAAAAEOs/aM868HBAm18/s1600/Alex1.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
Last November I was contacted by the principal of an elementary school who wanted me to make a special blanket for a very special little boy who was terminally ill. Alex was in grade six and only had a few months to live and his classmates wanted him to have something that would give him comfort during this very difficult time.<br />
They chose a heart with his name for the middle of the blanket and the following designs were created for the four corners.<br />
His favourite colour was purple so the blanket was embroidered with the main design on the purple side and the four corners of the reverse in latte had the other designs.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The school's initials with all his classmates holding hands.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_OG48KytN-Q/VUZxLN0hTQI/AAAAAAAAEPA/mzh92aLb1W8/s1600/Alex4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_OG48KytN-Q/VUZxLN0hTQI/AAAAAAAAEPA/mzh92aLb1W8/s1600/Alex4.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
His favourite sports.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rcoTriGcFtk/VUZxIXENhdI/AAAAAAAAEOw/VSyKcW3EgIw/s1600/Alex2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rcoTriGcFtk/VUZxIXENhdI/AAAAAAAAEOw/VSyKcW3EgIw/s1600/Alex2.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
His family.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zMUvPodxJT0/VUZxHMML5MI/AAAAAAAAEOk/_Xaw-H1y0Eo/s1600/Alex3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zMUvPodxJT0/VUZxHMML5MI/AAAAAAAAEOk/_Xaw-H1y0Eo/s1600/Alex3.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And, lastly.... Alex with his friends having a campfire.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-86n8nP8Sedk/VUZxLM1M63I/AAAAAAAAEO8/GfRe6G8Urvc/s1600/Alex5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-86n8nP8Sedk/VUZxLM1M63I/AAAAAAAAEO8/GfRe6G8Urvc/s1600/Alex5.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sadly, Alex passed away in January of this year and this special blanket was draped over his coffin at the funeral. The principal of the school called to tell me that Alex had taken his blanket with him everywhere he went and it did give him comfort.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sometimes the creation of these blankets is difficult. Most of my orders are for blankets to celebrate life as in the birth of a brand new baby but, on occasion, I do get requests to do something like this one that was done for Alex. </div>

<br />
Check out the latest edition of Scrapbook Magazine UK, it features two of my layouts. Issue #87 in stores now.<br />
This layout commemorates a trip that 6 of us took to New York in October of 2011. My favourite part of the week in NYC was the ride through Central Park.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-71zpwt4wHyU/VODXAWE4O8I/AAAAAAAAENM/Rqpao_66jQg/s1600/NYC1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-71zpwt4wHyU/VODXAWE4O8I/AAAAAAAAENM/Rqpao_66jQg/s1600/NYC1.jpg" height="638" width="640" /></a></div>
The challenge for this layout was to use the title "A New Year"....... This year I will become a Grandma for the first time so this layout was so much fun to create.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ow0rGZ2Sp3s/VODXD4lsDhI/AAAAAAAAENU/q_RHKNwyS6g/s1600/A-New-Year1%2Bcopy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ow0rGZ2Sp3s/VODXD4lsDhI/AAAAAAAAENU/q_RHKNwyS6g/s1600/A-New-Year1%2Bcopy.jpg" height="640" width="638" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sometimes you want your journaling to be private. I included mine on this layout under this (Grandma) flap.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

If it wasn't for the time that I spend once a month with my scrapbooking girls, I would get nothing done for Christmas.<br />
This year I created these adorable little ornaments using the inserts from the Tim Holtz configuration box.<br />

I used a lot of Prima and Kaisercraft embellishments as I wanted to make the page as soft and feminine as I could.<br />

I had a roll of chicken wire left over from a previous project so I knew exactly what I wanted to make.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PKcwbofffCQ/VGESvSsoJZI/AAAAAAAAEJc/y-EaIpEOePk/s1600/DSC05921.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PKcwbofffCQ/VGESvSsoJZI/AAAAAAAAEJc/y-EaIpEOePk/s1600/DSC05921.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I used Annie Sloan chalk paint (Linen). There was no prep work needed, I just started painting the original frame. It took three coats of paint and took only two hours to completely finish. I love how this paint adheres to the wood, it's beautiful to work with.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iEF8YNwn2RA/VGEStdL9IXI/AAAAAAAAEJM/Y6cwSpwXuzE/s1600/DSC05923.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iEF8YNwn2RA/VGEStdL9IXI/AAAAAAAAEJM/Y6cwSpwXuzE/s1600/DSC05923.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is the end result. Simple and beautiful. I added a brass chain to the back as my hanger and some mini clothes pins to hang the photos. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Edlp27B3j0Y/VGESwWc5z-I/AAAAAAAAEJw/G3WIbT6z6KY/s1600/DSC05926.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Edlp27B3j0Y/VGESwWc5z-I/AAAAAAAAEJw/G3WIbT6z6KY/s1600/DSC05926.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A great place for me to hang family photos in my bedroom.<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Qd8oSf68fzQ/VGESvyoCVeI/AAAAAAAAEJg/ylFFoDKyGSE/s1600/DSC05925.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Qd8oSf68fzQ/VGESvyoCVeI/AAAAAAAAEJg/ylFFoDKyGSE/s1600/DSC05925.jpg" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>

I actually purchased two sets of these candles so that I could alter them for myself and my daughter.<br />
I bought the set of three battery operated flameless LED candles at Costco (they sell them at Christmas time) for $29 and then rummaged through my stash of scrapbooking supplies and came up with some burlap and ribbon that matched our decor.<br />

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Fzea96v8QfE/VDGRdY8lgQI/AAAAAAAAEHc/l55gaFpH-v0/s1600/DSC05863.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Fzea96v8QfE/VDGRdY8lgQI/AAAAAAAAEHc/l55gaFpH-v0/s1600/DSC05863.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
I've made several of these wreaths over the past couple of years and I just love how they turn out.<br />
<br />
I created this one this past summer for a friend's birthday present and several of you have been asking how it was made. I thought I would take you through it step by step. It's really quite simple.<br />
I purchased a large roll of this burlap with red stitching around the edges (it also comes in blue stitching), a large metal wreath frame (got mine at Michaels), 3 clip on flowers and a wooden initial.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c1PyOgsU--A/VDGRPbFeIwI/AAAAAAAAEGk/DYW7qg-VOXk/s1600/DSC05856.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c1PyOgsU--A/VDGRPbFeIwI/AAAAAAAAEGk/DYW7qg-VOXk/s1600/DSC05856.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
You start by bunching up the fabric and putting each (approximately 6" bunch through the opening of the metal wreath. You will notice that the ring has three openings. You push through each of the 3 slots and then bunch it up against the metal so you can do it another three times.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8rVO_rcNhXY/VDGRPizvwwI/AAAAAAAAEGo/SqR2LXfxYxI/s1600/DSC05857.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8rVO_rcNhXY/VDGRPizvwwI/AAAAAAAAEGo/SqR2LXfxYxI/s1600/DSC05857.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a>Continue to do this and make sure that each bunch is extremely tight to the next one. This is where the work comes in..... pulling and pushing so that the burlap is tight against each other and the metal ring as you don't want it to slip out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FuC9TgpkkjA/VDGRPrvRGgI/AAAAAAAAEGs/rOZyF8vzRMc/s1600/DSC05858.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FuC9TgpkkjA/VDGRPrvRGgI/AAAAAAAAEGs/rOZyF8vzRMc/s1600/DSC05858.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mxNqDVF1oBc/VDGRSfngnNI/AAAAAAAAEG8/Ldlr217YZpA/s1600/DSC05859.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mxNqDVF1oBc/VDGRSfngnNI/AAAAAAAAEG8/Ldlr217YZpA/s1600/DSC05859.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
It takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. The more burlap bunches you can squeeze into the ring, the nicer and fuller the wreath looks.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I was honored to have been invited by Matt & Mark Harris from WOW Creations (aka Storage Wars / Kings of Swag) to attend the gifting suite for the CCMA's at Rexall Place in Edmonton.<br />
The event took place on Saturday and Sunday,<br />
September 6 & 7, 2014<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OsKbIxMmsMc/VBC-HpezObI/AAAAAAAAEDM/0vKK1nsAVPs/s1600/IMG_0578.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OsKbIxMmsMc/VBC-HpezObI/AAAAAAAAEDM/0vKK1nsAVPs/s1600/IMG_0578.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
We arrived on Friday morning at 10 am to begin setup and met Matt and Mark Harris from WOW Creations based in LA. They were the sweetest guys, so welcoming and wonderful to work with.<br />
The gifting suite opened at 10 am on Saturday and as the celebrities and VIP's started coming in, Mark would ring the bell to announce someone important was coming through.<br />
<br />
Our table was set up right beside the stage and we were able to go through the curtain and watch all the performers rehearse throughout both days. It was a lot of fun to watch them perform and then meet them as they came through the suite.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CMr9khhxIIs/VBDDP0_OC-I/AAAAAAAAEFc/tyHY5MF87tU/s1600/photo1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CMr9khhxIIs/VBDDP0_OC-I/AAAAAAAAEFc/tyHY5MF87tU/s1600/photo1.jpg" height="320" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
Over the two days, we met 100 celebrities and had the chance to gift them a sample of my products. I created 150 teething toys for the event and packaged them in a clear cellophane bag with a postcard and a business card. Sealed with a logo sticker.<br />
<br />
Everyone was so appreciative of the teething toys that I handed out and I was able to gift a few blankets and owls as well as offer personalized baby blankets to a few celebrities expecting in the near future. Several even took the time to ask me about "my story" and were genuinely interested in how I started Sun 7 Designs.<br />
The interest in my product was overwhelming, to say the least. They loved my blankets and everyone took the time to pick them up and feel the quality.<br />
It was a wonderful feeling knowing that my product was received so well by so many celebrities. I was star struck!<br />
<br />
This past weekend was the biggest highlight of my business life. It was something that I never thought I would be asked to do and it was an experience of a lifetime.<br />
Just yesterday I was asked by WOW Creations to attend the Oscars in LA in 2015, sadly I had to decline. Maybe someday in the future though!<br />
<br />
I will look back on the many photos and autographs that I got with a huge smile on my face. What an awesome experience! Here are just a few.<br />

Thank you to everyone who left me such sweet comments on my "Where Bloggers Create" post. The giveaway is now closed and the winner of the $25 gift certificate is Angela P. <br />
Well here I am again in Issue 82 of Scrapbooking Magazine.<br />
I know it's hard to think of snow while we are enjoying this beautiful sunny weather but I loved these photos and they were a perfect fit for for the sketch challenge this month.<br />
<br />
Here is the sketch:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JOJE1_I78Qs/U71UZkK0XAI/AAAAAAAAEAI/FapNJ30yIW4/s1600/Untitled1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JOJE1_I78Qs/U71UZkK0XAI/AAAAAAAAEAI/FapNJ30yIW4/s1600/Untitled1.jpg" height="350" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And here is my layout:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-w_IXzazro5k/U71UssiLC7I/AAAAAAAAEAQ/NPiCeKTvGVI/s1600/Snow-Day.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-w_IXzazro5k/U71UssiLC7I/AAAAAAAAEAQ/NPiCeKTvGVI/s1600/Snow-Day.jpg" height="618" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My simple technique for this layout was to use paint sample strips on the layout. I used a large one on the top right side and two coordinating ones along the bottom, secured with brads.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also love printing on my photos and it's so easy to do using Photoshop Elements. A lot of blank space on the top photo made it a perfect canvas for adding text.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The text on the yellow paint sample is actually a rub-on.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thanks for stopping by, have yourself a great day!</div>
<br />

I have three embroidery machines and, on a busy day, all of them are humming at once! Love having my TV on and catching up with daytime television - ALL DAY!<br />
My printer's tray on the wall holds a few of the hundreds of thread colours that I have for sewing.<br />
Embroidery threads are in two storage cases kept in the cupboard.<br />

This is my newest and most favourite machine. 6 Needle Embroidery Machine! I use an Ikea CD tower to store all my fat quarters which I use for my owl's wings and fabric teething toys. I love having such a great selection. And these buttons are my favourite - purchased last month from Ikea.<br />

I found this shopping cart on wheels at a local garage sale this summer and have plans to make a fabric liner for it and store some of my 38 colours of Minkee fabric in there.<br />

My daughter bought me this adorable bicycle bin and I use it to store my Minkee fabric ends. These remnants will eventually turn into stuffed Owls and Scottie Dogs.<br />

I have 8 of these cubby holes where I store all my cotton and supplies for my burp pads, teething toys and car seat canopies. Notice my cute "owl" containers holding my teething toy rings!<br />

My doll pram is one of my treasures. I have used it as a display at trade shows and am saving it for a future grand daughter to play with. I have a bit of an addiction to prams and have 4 of them, including a real Silver Cross that I used when my children were babies.<br />

A vintage miniature doll crib that I got at an antique store on our way to Phoenix last year. It's adorable and in beautiful condition. And below that, my collection of old wooden spools.<br />

It's a local store here in Calgary and the girls here are so friendly and helpful. This year I've been having a hard time getting to all my DIY projects due to lack of time so decided to take an evening for myself and take this class "Garden Friends". Hoping it will inspire me to finish a few projects of my own - and that it did!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--o-uGthZHDc/U7m31mOUcSI/AAAAAAAAD3g/37k0MTP_9kc/s1600/siteheader3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--o-uGthZHDc/U7m31mOUcSI/AAAAAAAAD3g/37k0MTP_9kc/s1600/siteheader3.jpg" height="140" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We started with these two adorable raw pieces and painted them with the first coat of Annie Sloan chalk paint. This is the base coat that will show through on the finished product. I chose antique white for my bird and grey for my owl. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cANxMS7xVr4/U7m9vXZdZhI/AAAAAAAAD4k/PeUS4oAH_qs/s1600/Owl1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cANxMS7xVr4/U7m9vXZdZhI/AAAAAAAAD4k/PeUS4oAH_qs/s1600/Owl1.jpg" height="580" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Choosing the paint colours was the hardest part of this class as they have so many beautiful colours to choose from.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-o0sibIQMcfw/U7m4dnXJcZI/AAAAAAAAD3o/yVsYxtf20oc/s1600/Bird1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-o0sibIQMcfw/U7m4dnXJcZI/AAAAAAAAD3o/yVsYxtf20oc/s1600/Bird1.jpg" height="504" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7_AHSlPcA-Y/U7m4d7vKerI/AAAAAAAAD3s/FlD9jC_eJOs/s1600/Owl3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7_AHSlPcA-Y/U7m4d7vKerI/AAAAAAAAD3s/FlD9jC_eJOs/s1600/Owl3.jpg" height="640" width="467" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The bird was then painted with a thin crackle medium and, after letting him dry for about 20 minutes, I put the final coat of paint on. Choosing pink. I lightly sanded him to bring out the antique white colour underneath which gave him that weathered look. Up close you can see the fine cracks that the crackle medium created.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I rubbed the entire owl with a piece of candle wax and then painted him with the bright red paint. I used a light sanding pad all over and removed the paint from the parts of the owl that were waxed letting the grey show through. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OhWYOU1AZwk/U7m5FeHtbzI/AAAAAAAAD34/bBB11RnqLxg/s1600/Owl4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OhWYOU1AZwk/U7m5FeHtbzI/AAAAAAAAD34/bBB11RnqLxg/s1600/Owl4.jpg" height="476" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Everybody's turned out completely different and they all looked amazing. It was such a fun group of girls (10 in total) and Interiors to Inspire provided drinks and snacks and lots of laughter.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kQ6lhPMmD6Q/U7m5wFY5xWI/AAAAAAAAD4A/-N9WpWj3CIo/s1600/Owl5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kQ6lhPMmD6Q/U7m5wFY5xWI/AAAAAAAAD4A/-N9WpWj3CIo/s1600/Owl5.jpg" height="307" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I put my bird on a shelf in my bedroom and my owl is in my kitchen.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kPWb8jTAkvQ/U7m6GDLbjSI/AAAAAAAAD4Q/JkwUKwM42b8/s1600/Bird2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kPWb8jTAkvQ/U7m6GDLbjSI/AAAAAAAAD4Q/JkwUKwM42b8/s1600/Bird2.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I can't wait to take another class from these ladies. If you are in Calgary, you have to check them out. They will help you with any project and for a small fee, you can use their workshop where they will give you ideas, guide you through your project and keep the mess out of your house! </div>

I fell in love with this new item the minute I saw it. My daughter and son-in-law's first wedding anniversary was last week so I created this special gift for them in just a couple of hours.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I recently made 4 of these jewelry holders as Christmas gifts but decided to keep one for myself and make it to match my mini drawer set.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This one was a gift for my daughter.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zPXVZtzXd3A/UxuDuxzyWXI/AAAAAAAADrk/mO62iMyv9ZE/s1600/Kaisercraft-Jewelry-Holder-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zPXVZtzXd3A/UxuDuxzyWXI/AAAAAAAADrk/mO62iMyv9ZE/s1600/Kaisercraft-Jewelry-Holder-1.jpg" height="640" width="484" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
These projects are so easy and fun to create. Just paint the wooden frame a colour to match your decor, adhere your paper with two sided tape and attach some knobs using glossy accents. It's that simple. Only takes about an hour and you have yourself a wonderful gift!<br />

Love all these girls with all my heart and they made my daughter's wedding day extra special.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fZtnMG5khyc/Upu90Ux-fTI/AAAAAAAADk0/C96n-Zyi3Ac/s1600/Royalty.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fZtnMG5khyc/Upu90Ux-fTI/AAAAAAAADk0/C96n-Zyi3Ac/s640/Royalty.jpg" height="600" width="640" /></a></div>
I used the Bazzill Bling card stock as my background. Using Golden Gel Medium moulding paste with the Crafter's Workshop 6x6 brick stencil template, I created the faux bricks in both corners. I did some faux stitching in the opposite corners.<br />
I placed the photo on top of the cake doilie and added some Prima bling with some miscellaneous flowers and sugar brads. I cut the crown from the Teresa Collins "Sophisticated" Cricut cartridge using silver glitter paper and added some pink rhinestones.<br />
The title is a Basic Grey "Two Scoops" rubon.<br />

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-if0aoeQuEuk/UvOttVeFbGI/AAAAAAAADq8/L0n3_eaLtVY/s1600/Brad_0004+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-if0aoeQuEuk/UvOttVeFbGI/AAAAAAAADq8/L0n3_eaLtVY/s1600/Brad_0004+copy.jpg" height="400" width="312" /></a></div>
<br />
When I became pregnant with our second child in June of 1989 my husband Brad was very ill and we didnt know how much time he had. we were sitting around one evening discussing various things we had never done. I guess you could call it a bucket list, but I wasn't aware of that term back then.<br />
I told him that I had never ridden in a limousine. I wondered what it would be like to take a ride in a fancy car with its comfortable plush seats and chauffeur. Months passed and as Brad became more ill, he said to me one evening; "after you have the baby, I'm going to surprise you with something". We didn't have a lot of money so I couldn't really imagine what it would be, other than a special home cooked meal.<br />
As fate would have it, Brad passed away on February 8, 1990 taking the surprise to the grave.... Or so I thought!<br />
I never thought any more about it and went on to give birth to our son on March 12th.<br />
I was discharged from the hospital a few days later (yes, they kept you in for 3-5 days back then!) and my family came to pick me up. My Mother, brother and 5 year old daughter. As I walked through the hospital doors, you will never guess what pulled up in front..... A stretch limousine!<br />
I sat down inside and read the card that was sitting on the seat waiting for me.<br />
Tears rolling down my face and my daughter jumping all over the seats in excitement. Brad had asked a few of his close friends to pool their money together and organize this ride for me. We took the long way home, the scenic route if you will, and arrived home to a clown waiting on the front steps with a huge bunch of balloons.<br />
I was overcome with emotion and couldn't believe that he organized it all while laying on his death bed in the hospital.<br />
I will never forget that day 24 years ago and sometimes when I see a limousine driving by me I think about my special ride.<br />
Sadly this was not my first ride in a limousine as I rode in one on the way to Brad's funeral a month earlier. It may not have been my first, but it certainly was my most memorable.<br />
Today is the 24th anniversary of his death, so I buy a red rose to remember him and take a little quiet time for myself today to think about all the wonderful memories we made.<br />

<br />
Starting the new year off with my layout for Scrapbooking Magazine UK. Lindsey asked me to create a layout following this sketch for the January 2014 issue.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2rOTv0UWnZU/UrMgXLV7sKI/AAAAAAAADnQ/5AvQICYjs5c/s1600/sketch.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2rOTv0UWnZU/UrMgXLV7sKI/AAAAAAAADnQ/5AvQICYjs5c/s1600/sketch.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm currently working on my daughter's wedding album so thought I would create another layout for the book.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is a photo of my daughter and my husband, Dale walking down the isle. I love this photo as you can see how happy she is and how proud her Dad is.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Meagan lost her biological father, Brad, when she was just 5 years old so she wanted to be able to have both of her dads walk her down the isle so we attached a photo of Brad to her bouquet.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lKUzlwTubKQ/UrMgYdwkuXI/AAAAAAAADnY/1EVy5q0y4fE/s1600/My-2-Dads.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lKUzlwTubKQ/UrMgYdwkuXI/AAAAAAAADnY/1EVy5q0y4fE/s640/My-2-Dads.jpg" height="606" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A close up of the bouquet. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The flowers were wrapped in lace from my wedding dress that I wore when I married Brad!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="background-color: white; color: #1f1f1f; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 17px;">Something old represents continuity; something new offers optimism for the future; something borrowed symbolizes borrowed happiness and something blue stands for purity, love, and fidelity.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #1f1f1f; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 17px;"><br /></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #1f1f1f; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 17px;">These are the four items that my daughter carried with her on her wedding day.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #1f1f1f; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 17px;"><br /></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #1f1f1f; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 17px;"><i>Something Old: </i> Her engagement ring belonged to her future husband's Grandmother.</span><br />
