Coffee Sack Bags

Hello blog followers, my sincere apologies for the lack of posts this month but I have been very busy! Since taking a vacation to Hawaii and coming home to 13 baby blanket orders... I am trying to get caught up while continuing to receive more orders... gotta love it!
So... during one of our daily outings in Hawaii we took an unexpected turn and ended up in a coffee farm in Kona, I noticed that they had old burlap coffee sacks laying around.
Some of them were sitting empty just waiting to be filled with coffee beans and some were full and being loaded onto trucks. Being a lover of burlap, I thought to myself... what could I do with these? I just had to have them... My mind started racing, floor pillows?, bags?, reupholster my foot stool?, backpacks?.
I purchased a few "new" coffee sacks (they are not allowed to sell the used ones because they may carry insects) from a couple of farms in Hawaii.

While laying in bed one night I thought to myself; so why not make bags out of them? The next day I was on a mission to find some Hawaiian print fabric to line the bags. I went to 3 quilting fabric shops and found some great fabric, perfect for my bags. I have 5 real coffee sacks, some great Hawaiian print fabric and I'm going to make some handy grocery bags. Stay tuned...
