Movin' On...

OK.... My Bad! I have been quite neglectful in my blog post duties but I have been busy.... really busy! In just 4 days I am on my way into a "new" career path that will, hopefully, give me more time to create! I have decided to go on contract with Valery Klassen Consulting and leave my "real job" as manager of a private oil & gas company. I currently have three clients that I do work for and will be able to work from home as well as in my rental office space, setting my own schedule and hours.

Since both of my kids are now educated adults with "real" jobs of their own this is the time in my life that I'm giving back to ME. I worked to put them through university and now that my job is done, it's time to focus on ME!

My baby blanket business at Sun 7 Designs has really taken off and it, being my first love, needs more attention. I have neglected my quilting and, just this past weekend, started working on one for my brother. I have a wedding to help plan and a thousand craft ideas running through my head and I want time to CREATE! I have some exciting things coming up and I wanted time to focus on them and enjoy what life has to offer.

We only get one chance on this earth, so I plan to make the best of it with no regrets. I have given myself a few more hours in a day to dedicate to me... to let's hope I don't waste them! Stay tuned for more blog posts and crafty ideas and always remember to "do something creative every single day!".

Since my daughter moved to the UK in 2005 I have been travelling there to visit her. Of course I don't go anywhere without checking out the local scrapbooking, crafting and quilting shops and buying a few of the local magazines to keep me inspired.
A few years ago I came across this magazine based in England - "Scrapbook Magazine"
"Britain's biggest selling scrapbook magazine". Just recently I was asked if I would like to submit a layout for a future publication. So... this month, in Issue 62, my "Love in Paris" layout is featured on page 66.

Stay tuned for my featured designer profile in an upcoming issue.

2nd BLOG-iversary & Scrap That! Kit Giveaway

Where does the time go? I need 24 more hours in each day to accomplish everything on my to-do list.
It is now exactly 365 days until my daughter's wedding, so this is "the year of Meagan" (a phrase I coined from my friend Lorna, after she dedicated an entire year to herself so she could plan her own wedding). I am making everything... from the wedding invitations to adding the bling to her wedding dress... I have 10+ projects to complete before next April, but I am so excited.
I'm super busy these days, but wouldn't have it any other way. I continue to work part-time as manager for a private oil & gas company, my baby blanket business is doing really well and averaging 15-20 blankets a month, I try to complete a project for my blog two to three times a month, I scrapbook 3-4 times a month at regularly scheduled Saturday crops with my "BWB" gals who keep my creative juices as well as my tears of laughter flowing! I'm working for Scrap That! handling the pre-orders for Dusty Attic and I'm working for my brother-in-law's company, Kona Coast Vacations handling online reservation inquiries... which of course just has to lead to a vacation in Kailua-Kona every year!
Variety is the spice of life and I'm excited to have a number of things to keep my days full of variety... and even though I'm so busy jumping from one project to another, I am blessed to be happy doing the things that I love.
So in celebration of my 2nd year blogging and a thank you to all my followers, I will randomly choose one of my followers to receive this beautiful Scrap That! kit. So leave a comment and become and follower and your name will be entered into the draw.
