Down to the Wire

It's been 16 months of planning and prepping for the big day and its coming down to the wire. Two months until the most important day of my daughter's life and I can honestly say that up until now it has been stress-free and a lot of fun.
Meagan decided very early on that we would make everything that we could. The reason was two-fold; to save money and to add that personal touch.
Our first project, of course, were the wedding invitations so once a color and a theme was chosen I made the simple but elegant invitations.  Now that they have all been delivered to close family and friends  I wanted to share them with you.

We did these cute little invitations for the wedding party to attend the Rehearsal Dinner.
I used the Stampin' Up edge die and cut all the flaps of the envelopes.
We then sealed them with red wax and a double heart seal.

Everything was very simple and cost effective to make and the most important thing was that Meagan loved them.

Hard Rock T-Shirt Quilt

For those of you that know me, you know that my first crafting love is sewing.  I have been sewing since I was 12 years old and started quilting about 15 years ago.
I make this simple "Hard Rock T-Shirt" quilt for my brother for Christmas.  This is my second Hard Rock quilt as I made one for my daughter a few years back.
They had both been collecting Hard Rock T-shirts from all over the world and when they became too small for them to wear, I wanted them to have them as keepsakes and what better way than to incorporate them into a quilt.
My daughter has had hers since 2009 and she loves to snuggle underneath it when watching TV.

32 T-shirts, 2 rolls of stabilizer, 1 package of queen size batting, 10 meters of music themed fabric and lots of thread..... and this is what I came up with for my brother's 91"x68" quilt.
Here is the back side.  I just love this guitar themed fabric and the large all-over free motion quilting pattern.
This really was a very simple quilt to make and I love how it turned out.
And.... I always make a personalized label for the back of every quilt.
I added a few of the T-shirt tags onto the quilt as well.
And here is the quilt that I made for Meagan in 2009.
 The back side.
 and.... the label.

Wooden Spool Memo Pins

I have had this jar of wooden thread spools for several years so when I saw this idea on Pinterest,  I jumped right in and made a few.
They were very simple and quick to make.  I used the Tim Holtz Memo Pins, Prima Buttons, some Ribbon and a selection of "bling".

I am keeping this one for myself as it's my favourite.  I love the original vintage label on top of the spool and, although it's hard to see, the wooden spool actually has a logo imprinted into the wood.
 Love the tall wooden spools.

Time To CRE8

Another New Year has begun and I have no idea where the last one went.  Time flies by so quickly that I'm afraid I'm never going to get all my creative ideas out of my head and completed.
To start the year off, I made these cute little calendars with chipboard, paper, ink, ribbon, Graphic 45 clothespins and the calendar template so kindly given to me by Paula & Deb.  Check out their blog  "One Lucky Day"for the cute little calendars and the template.

Here is a close-up...
Happy New Year to all my faithful followers.  I'm looking forward to another year of creating!
Become a "follower" and leave me a comment for a chance to win one of these cute little calendars.
